How to prepare equipment before taking it to an electronics repair service

Practical tips for safely dropping off or shipping your electronic equipment to the repair service and helping the technician identify the problem faster.

Why preparation matters

Equipment that is poorly transported can suffer additional damage on the way. And equipment that arrives without information about the fault requires more diagnosis time. Both things affect cost and resolution time.

If you are dropping off the equipment in person

Follow these steps:

  • Coordinate via WhatsApp before coming to make sure the workshop can receive you.
  • If it is a loose board, carry it in an anti-static bag or wrapped in bubble wrap.
  • Do not use aluminium foil to wrap boards (it can cause short circuits).
  • Bring the power cable and any accessories related to the fault.
  • If the device shows a display error, note the code or bring a photo.

If you are sending the equipment by courier

For shipments via OCA or Andreani from anywhere in the country:

  • Wrap the board in bubble wrap with at least 3 cm of protection on all sides.
  • Place it in a rigid box, not an envelope.
  • Fill the interior space with newspaper or foam to prevent movement.
  • Mark 'FRAGILE – ELECTRONICS' on the box.
  • Include a note with your name, phone number and a brief description of the problem.
  • Coordinate the shipment with us via WhatsApp before dispatching.

What information to provide when handing over the equipment

When you hand over the equipment, make sure to communicate:

  • What the device does (or stops doing).
  • How long it has had the problem.
  • Whether there was a prior event: impact, short circuit, rain, voltage drop.
  • Whether it has had previous repairs.
  • Whether there is urgency for return.

We do not offer home collection. Coordination is via WhatsApp and equipment can be sent by private courier.
What about data if the device has internal memory?
We do not modify or access data. Our work is electronic, not software.
