Why the quality of the consultation matters
A well-detailed enquiry allows the technician to assess whether the work is viable, estimate times and costs, and give you a concrete response rather than a generic one. At FixBA we respond to well-documented enquiries with real estimates, not with 'it depends'.
Basic data to include
Before sending photos, include these details in your message:
- ✓Equipment type (e.g. washing machine board, industrial PC power supply, variable-frequency drive).
- ✓Brand and model (if you know them).
- ✓Exact symptom: what the device does or stops doing.
- ✓When the problem started and whether there was a prior event (impact, moisture, short circuit).
- ✓Whether there have been previous repairs.
- ✓Whether the device powers on, shows signs of life, or does not respond at all.
What photos to send
Photos are the most useful part of the enquiry. Send at least these:
- ✓Overall view of the device or board (with good lighting).
- ✓Areas with visible damage: burns, stains, swollen capacitors.
- ✓Photo of the label with the model number if available.
- ✓Photo of the power connector or input terminals.
- ✓If there is an error on screen or display, a photo of that error.
What you do not need to send
You do not need to be a technician to enquire. We do not need circuit diagrams or electrical schematics. With the basic data and clear photos we can give you a preliminary answer within a few hours.
How we respond
Based on your enquiry, we respond with: whether the equipment falls within our scope of work, a rough estimate of cost and time, and the steps to coordinate the formal diagnosis.
